US law schools faculty members finally waking up!

Previous protests were mostly by individual law professors. The two new letters show that US law school faculty members are finally finding their voice!

Los Angeles, April 11 - The letter regarding humiliation of Manning, signed by 250, mostly law professors, [1] and the previous letter, signed by over 100 law professor, regarding ethics, or lack thereof, in conduct of the US Supreme Court justices, [2] are unprecedented, as far as can be remembered...

Previous protests were mostly by individual law professors. (see quotes below)

In view of the widespread corruption of the US justice system, there are quite a few subjects that could be protested, but the above two letters show that US law school faculty members are finally finding their voice!

Private Manning’s Humiliation

Bradley Manning is the soldier charged with leaking US government documents to Wikileaks. He is currently detained under degrading and inhumane conditions that are illegal and immoral.

...
...
President Obama was once a professor of constitutional law, and entered the national stage as an eloquent moral leader. The question now, however, is whether his conduct as commander in chief meets fundamental standards of decency. He should not merely assert that Manning's confinement is "appropriate and meet[s] our basic standards," as he did recently. He should require the Pentagon publicly to document the grounds for its extraordinary actions -  and immediately end those that cannot withstand the light of day.
