Pictures of Israeli President Reuven Rivlin in SS uniform were published. Similar pictures appeared of PM Rabin, prior to his assassination. Rivlin, member of the right wing party of Netanyahu, is perceived as a "lefty" by more extreme right wing hooligans...
Netanyahu did his best to prevent Rivlin's election to the presidency, and is perceived as supporting the right wing extremists... after all, he led similar campaign against PM Rabin in 1995.
The current year, particularly around the Gaza massacre, led the exposure of Israeli society and the State of Israel at their worst - violent, racist, intolerant - not only against Arabs, but against anybody who does not share the extreme right wing ideology.
