Declaration of bankruptcy: Schröder punish Merkel's Russia policy! Dismissed former Chancellor Gerhard Schröder (SPD), by the Western media as "Putinversteher", condemned in an interview Russia course by Angela Merkel in the Ukraine crisis in the strongest possible terms and said that he had understanding for Russia's foreign policy concerns and that there is absolutely no reason to be afraid of a possible threat to Russia in Eastern Europe.[1]

Schröder stressed that he also knew "nobody, not in Russia, which would be so crazy even to consider it, to call into question the territorial integrity of Poland or the Baltic States." An objective examination of the facts shows the complete opposite of what you make to the accusation Russia. Because not Russia threatens the territorial integrity of other States, but threaten the territorial integrity of the Russians of the West and NATO. Schröder said:

[...] With the end of the Soviet Union, the Warsaw Pact has ceased to exist, while the NATO not only continued, but has considerably expanded eastwards. [...]

Gerhard Schröder, Chancellor from 1998 to 2005, understand Russia's concerns related to the growing isolation of the country together. He insisted that to isolate the test Russia international is "wrong", because the responsibility for the crisis in the Ukraine at "all parties". In this conflict "all pages of errors made," and these have in "Carried a spiral of sanctions, threats, and violence."

The Social Democrat also criticized the attitude of the Chancellor in the EU Association Agreement. She would have committed, that the Commission does not "negotiated only with the Ukraine and not with Russia on an EU Association" and stressed that the "Ukrainian culture in split is." He condemned the exclusion of Russia from the G8 Group sharply, because "in the crisis talks are essential."
